1. What Baji is (one line)
Baji (Arabic: باقي) is a bilingual Arabic/English SaaS that lets local businesses in Kuwait sell prepaid packages and issue digital loyalty passes to their customers — no paper punch cards, no separate customer app.
2. Company & operator
- Product name: Baji
- Legal operator: Khaled Atieh (sole proprietor), Kuwait
- Primary market: State of Kuwait
- Languages: Arabic (Kuwaiti dialect, primary) and English
- Website: https://bajikw.com
- Contact: hello@bajikw.com
- Merchant of Record: Paddle.com — handles payments, tax, invoices, and refunds
3. Who Baji is for
Local, neighbourhood-scale businesses that sell repeat services or products:
- Restaurants and cafés (meal packages, coffee subscriptions)
- Salons, barbers, and beauty studios (haircut / treatment bundles)
- Clinics and wellness (session packages, physio, dental cleanings)
- Car washes and detailing (wash-and-go plans)
- Home services, laundry, tutors, gyms, kids' activities
4. The problem Baji solves
Small businesses in Kuwait rely on paper punch cards, WhatsApp screenshots, and manual spreadsheets to run "buy 10 get 1 free" style offers. That means lost cards, disputes, no data, and no way to know which regulars actually come back. Baji replaces all of that with a digital pass the customer can save on their phone and the shop can redeem in two taps.
5. How it works
- Merchant onboarding. Owner signs up, picks a plan, adds branches and team members (managers and cashiers).
- Build a package. Owner defines a package: name, cover, price, number of redemptions, expiry, branch scope, and template style.
- Customer buys the package. Either from a Baji public package page, or in-store via the merchant's dashboard.
- Digital pass is issued. The customer receives a unique, signed pass (256-bit token) delivered by email; it works in Apple Wallet-style card view on any phone.
- Redemption. Cashier scans / opens the pass, taps redeem. Each redemption is logged; expiry, quotas, and branch scope are enforced server-side.
- Real-time analytics. Owner sees active passes, revenue, best-selling packages, and top customers.

Every tier includes a 7-day free trial that starts after successful subscription. Monthly and yearly billing are supported; yearly is discounted. All prices are in Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD). See bajikw.com/#pricing for the current numbers — treat that page as the source of truth.
8. Payments & refunds
Baji does not process cards directly. Paddle.com acts as Merchant of Record and handles every payment, tax invoice, and refund. Baji offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all subscriptions. See /refund for the full policy.
9. Privacy & security posture
- Passwords are hashed; sign-in supports 6-digit email OTP.
- Row-Level Security on every merchant-owned table.
- Sensitive customer PII is masked from the cashier role.
- Pass tokens are 256-bit and rate-limited on public endpoints.
- Webhook signatures are verified before writes.
- Data controller: Khaled Atieh. See /privacy.
10. Technology (high level, non-sensitive)
- Frontend: React 19, TanStack Start (SSR), Tailwind CSS v4
- Backend: TanStack server functions, Postgres with RLS, edge-runtime hosting
- Payments: Paddle (Merchant of Record)
- Email: transactional email templates for auth and pass delivery
- i18n: bilingual with RTL and Kuwaiti-Arabic microcopy
11. What Baji is not
- Not a general POS system — Baji sits on top of whatever POS the shop uses.
- Not a food-delivery app.
- Not a marketplace — merchants own their customers, branding, and pricing.
- Not open source; Baji is proprietary software operated by Khaled Atieh.
